Studio Printmakers' Collective

Ian Halliday

I first learnt printmaking at the Auckland Art Society in the late 1980's - initially etching and then screenprinting. This was followed a few years later doing woodcut with Nigel Brown at the Wanganui Summer School.

In 1998 I took a month long Colour Etching course in Barga, Tuscany which really opened my eyes as to the potential inherent in colour printing.
Currently, I enjoy the directness of woodcut and working within the limitations it imposes.
